Updates for my Portfolio for February 2024

My side project has not been progressing for the past few months due to the renovation, still cleaning up. On my career, there's nothing about promotion so I guess I will be moving on.

  • Sell META at 462.37
    • Reasons/Notes
      • I sold half my position to take some money off the table, making about a 78% gain on my purchased price.
      • I am thinking when should I cut the remaining half or should I keep it.
  • Sell MKTX at 214.46 (loss)
    • Reasons/Notes
      • I decided to take a 46% loss on this position.
      • Tradeweb, a competitor, was growing at double the pace or higher compared to MarketAxess in 2023. MarketAxess product range market share has slightly fallen across the board. What's more, Tradeweb’s US high grade credit ADV was $7.2B, which charges a higher fee, overtook MarketAxess of $6.2B. MarketAxess has eroding competitive advantage despite trying to grow electronic trading volume at lower fees, as Tradeweb is growing faster and charges higher fees. Tradeweb also has more diversified segments which helps in the resiliency of the business.

That's all for my money for now.

Splunk is currently at the acquisition price, maybe I should cut that too. That being said, I am still in the process of slowly unloading my main equity portfolio to shift the bulk of it to other portfolios.

I have place a small % of my net worth in crypto-assets.

Conclusion

My portfolio YTD is now 3.18%, with the long term XIRR at -2.95% (w/o Crypto is 1.21%). Hopefully, I can go back into the green for the long term.

My cash position is currently at about 10%. Will continue wait for my cash position to accumulate. Let's hope I can get my numbers back on track.
