Updates for my Portfolio for September 2023

I am still in the midst of renovating, wondering how to continue working with my contingency plans.

  • Sell Greatview Aseptic Packaging at 2.22
    • Reasons/Notes
      • I woke up to a rude shock that the Chinese regulators approved the purchase of GAPack by Shandong Xinjufeng (link here).
      • This isn't a good thing as the buyer is actually a competitor company and GAPack customers aren't really happy about this.
      • So I immediately started cutting all my positions.
      • About a 79% profit over a year, not too shabby. A pity it isn't a big position.
  • Buy UOB at 28.41
    • Reasons/Notes
      • I actually have UOB in my CPF portfolio. And was considering to add it to my main portfolio, so the valuation seemed decent to initiate my first tranche.
      • P/B is at 1.17 (range: 0.93 to 1.47, crisis: 0.74) with a dividend yield of 5.6% (range: 2.65% to 6.26%).
      • This is kinda of a revenge investing position though ^^"
That's all for my money for now.

That being said, the Chinese market seems to be plagued with negativity though nothing screams cheap enough for me to add more. Hope to see more opportunities soon.

I have place a small % of my net worth in crypto-assets.

Conclusion

My portfolio YTD is now 23.25%, with the long term XIRR at -5.02% (w/o Crypto is -0.20%). Hopefully, I can go back into the green.

My cash position is currently at about 13%. Will continue wait for my cash position to accumulate. Let's hope I can get my numbers back on track.
