I have made a CPF MediSave Account Vs Basic Healthcare Sum Estimator to estimate how soon can we hit the Basic Healthcare Sum using the MediSave Account.

It simulates the regular monthly contribution of both employer and employee excluding bonuses. You can enter an annual average increment to automatically increase your salary each year.

Please note that this estimator have a few limitations:
  • All calculations are just estimates as
    • Increments may change
    • Basic Healthcare Sums may change
    • CPF Contributions and Allocations may change
    • CPF MediSave Account Interest may be calculated differently
  • Assumptions
    • This spreadsheet assumes that the Basic Healthcare Sum increases at a rate of 5% on average, rounded off to the nearest hundred.
    • Salary bonuses are excluded for simplicity and conservativeness.
    • Interest Rates are assumed to be 4%.

Note:
  • You can use Annual Usage fields to enter your annual MediSave usage such as Integrated Shield Plans, MediShield Life, payment for recurring medical bills, etc
  • I used the latest MediShield Life premiums from MOH website.
