Updates for my Portfolio for July 2021

For my side project, I am going to rerun some upscaling validation studies again with controls, another variable that it brings in is the equipment being used, which means more controls are needed. Not to mention seems like more and more people have the similar ideas as me, which is worrying I guess.
  • Buy Ping An at 75 and 66
    • Reasons
      • Just averaging down on Ping An due to the market decline.
  • Buy Hi-Sun Technology at 1.32
    • Reasons
      • Averaging down further, I would have preferred to add again at the 1.20+ range but I ran out of cash ^^"
  • Sell Greatview Aseptic Packaging at 3.236
    • Reasons
      • Considering the opportunities and the lack of cash, I decided to cut GAPack for Tencent and Ping An.
      • Quite painful but I guess I didn't see any other way. On the bright side that I reduced the number of positions in my portfolio too.

  • Buy Alibaba at 184
    • Reasons
      • I added more as I see Alibaba is in the clear considering Jack Ma reappeared.
      • But one thing to note would be that Alibaba lost a huge customer for their cloud segment (Tik tok?).
      • I was preparing to add one more but for good or worse, I ran out of cash so there's that. Fortunately, one transaction is not as expensive as Tencent so there would be chances.
  • Buy Tencent at 500 and 429.4
    • Reasons
      • Added 2 more tranches of Tencent (man, those contracts are really expensive). The first one actually filled before I had a chance to shift the queue oh well.
      • That being said, the share price recovered a little before plunging slightly due to the CCP likening gaming to opium. Seems to be stabilising now.
That's all for my money for now.

I have place a small % of my net worth in crypto-assets.

Conclusion

My portfolio YTD is now 53.59%, with the long term XIRR at 10.48%, meeting VT's performance, but that's probably due to balance transfers (leverage).

My cash position is currently at about 10%. Probably keep an eye out for opportunities while conserving cash (I have used up my balance transfers).
