Electric Cables (Picture taken from Tai Sin Electric Website)

I previously wrote about an article about gaining investing ideas from daily life here.

I previously heard of Tai Sin Electric from a couple of bloggers, but remained skeptical about the company as I asked around in my friends and family working in engineering about those brand of cables and sadly, nothing.

That didn't invoke much confidence in me, plus it is affected by commodity prices of copper, so I more or less passed it over and forgotten about it.

I was performing a safety inspection of a room for spare parts in my workplace when I saw shelves of coiled cables. I closer look wrote "Tai Sin" as the brand.

Wow, it is like ALL the cables there are from Tai Sin! Further inspection of other areas of the facility, showed cables running all over the facility (well, that's expected considering the nature of my industry), the cables are also in excess to ensure that if something breaks down, the in-house engineering team can fix it asap. Think about how much they have to use. :D

After the inspection, I looked up Tai Sin Electric and found a list of their projects here.

Looks rather good.

So, Tai Sin Electric is now added into my watchlist and in queue for me to churn some numbers out :)

EDIT (14 Jun 16): A truck at NTU :)

  1. Copper cheap is good for Tai Sin, more profit margin once it is make into cable. So far as I know, copper price are cheap but cable price hardly come down.
